Eden Township Healthcare District gives $30,000 for Homeless Women and Children

Building Futures with Women and Children is the recipient of a $30,000 grant from Eden Township Healthcare District (ETHD), which will be used to serve Eden Area women at the agency's San Leandro Shelter and Sister Me Home Safe House.

These short-term emergency shelters provide homeless women and children and those fleeing domestic abuse with shelter and supportive services designed to help them build brighter futures. Many of those served face complex challenges including physical and mental health issues. "We are absolutely delighted that Eden Township is continuing their partnership in support of Building Futures' work," says Development and Operations Director Peggy Combs.

"It gives us great pride to invest in Building Futures' services, which improve lives and provide hope to the underserved," says ETHD President George Bischalaney.

Building Futures with Women and Children has been serving homeless women and children and those fleeing abuse since 1986. ETHD's Community Health Fund invests in programs that provide health education, health maintenance, health promotion, prevention programs and services and access to health services.
