Community Outreach and Education

Community Outreach and Education is an essential part of Building Futures' mission. Conducted both independently and in conjunction with other organizations our outreach and education includes:

• Court Advocacy: advocacy and follow-up services for women seeking domestic violence restraining orders in the Hayward court
• Safe at Home: confidential mailing addresses for DV survivors to use in place of their actual home, work, and school addresses
• Domestic Violence Support Group: a safe, supportive space for women to share experiences and learn from each other
• Relationship Abuse Prevention Program: education for middle and high school students about dating and family violence
• Domestic Violence Counselor Training: several annual opportunities for community members to earn a 40-hour DV Counselor certificate.
